Maintain and trouble-shoot issues with office equipment, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, networks, etc.
Employee Status: Regular Employee
Full-Time Status: Part-Time
- 3 days per week between Monday and Friday; Preferable 4 hours per day daily M-F
- May increase to 32 hours per week as needs increase
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Hardware and Software Related
- Install, maintain, and repair hardware and software for about 40 – 50 desktops and laptops.
- Work on servers at the Anaheim office and Irvine Data Center.
- Diagnose, repair, replace parts, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, office equipment, network equipment, printers, servers, disk drives, networks, routers, VPN.
- Perform hardware upgrades, virus software etc.
- Make backups of machines, servers, networks etc.
- Trouble shooting issues.
- Work with hardware and software vendors on resolving problems and correspond with vendors.
- Analyze, plan, design, and install new personal computer systems.
- Review, monitor and upgrade existing personal computer systems.
- Maintain hardware and software inventory.
Network Related:
- Understand and know current standards and terminology used for local area networks (LANs) and larger wide area networks (WANs).
- Help plan computer networks and then implement the planned networks including analyzing costs, evaluate and source vendors for goods and services.
- Recommend appropriate network addressing systems, appropriate layouts for various network configurations, and connection devices.
- Install, configure, and resolve conflicts among different hardware used in the network.
- Administer and troubleshoot network problems including identifying and resolving network performance problems.
Soft Skills:
- Provide technical support to network users.
- Be responsive to customer needs and respond to Infrastructure tickets in the most efficient manner.
- Ability to solve problems quickly without getting overwhelmed.
- Help nontechnical people understand and use complex equipment and software.
- Excellent in verbal and written communication and to have good interpersonal skills.
Career Level: Entry
Required:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- Demonstrated experience, skills and aptitude for software programming.
- Quickly research issues (e.g. doesn’t have to know how to trouble shoot everything, but must be able to quickly research it).
- Ability to perform independently.
